I CAUTION I
* Inspect the air cleaner element for tears. A torn ele-
ment must be replaced .
• If driving under dusty conditions , clean the air
cleaner element more frequently. The surest way to
accelerate engine wear is to operate the engine wlth ~
out the element or with torn element. Make sure that
the air cleaner element Is in good condition at all
times. Life of the engine depends largely on this
component!
• Remove the drain cap CD of t he ai r cleaner box to all ow any
water to drain out.
EXHAUST PIPE NUTS AND MUFFLER
BOLTS
Tighten Initially at 1 month and every 3 mont hs there·
after .
• Tighten the exhaust pipe nuts (1), muffler connectton bolt ~,
and muffler mounting bolt @ to the specified tor que .
~ Exhaust pipe nut : 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 Ib-ft)
Muffler connection
bolt : 23 N·m (2.3 kgf -m, 16.5 Ib-tt)
MuHler mount ing bolt : 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 Ib-ft)
