• When installing the outer rotor, face the punched mark <D on
the outer rotor to the outside.

CLUTCH DRIVE PLATES
Measure th e thickness of the clutch drive plates using vernier
calipers. If a clutch drive plate is not within the service limit.
replace the clutch plates as a set.

CLUTCH DRIVEN PLATES
Measure ea ch clutch driven plate for distortion using the thick-
ness gauge. If a clutch driven plate is not wi th in the service limit,
replace the clutch plates as a set.

CLUTCH SPRING FREE LENGTH
Measure the free length of each clutch spring using vernier
cali·
pers. If any spring length is less than the service limit, replace all
of the springs with new ones.
