Suzuki LT-Z400 2003 - Master Cylinder Reassembly and Remounting

MASTER CYLINDER REASSEMBLY AND
REMOUNTING
Reassemble and remount the master cylinder in the reverse
o rd er of removal and disassembl y. Pay attention to the follwing
point:
I CAUTION I
• Wash the master cylinder components with new
brake fluid before reassembly.
" Do not wipe the brake fluid off with a rag after wash-
ing the components.
" When washing the components . use the specified
brake fluid. Never use different types of fluid or
cleaning solvents such as gasoline , kerosine, etc.
• Apply brake fluid to the master cylinder bore and all
the
component to be inserted to the bore.
~ Specification and classification : DOT 4
• Apply SUZUKI MOLY PASTE to the master cylinder rod .
.0 99000-25140: SUZUKI MOLY PASTE
• Tighten the master cylinder rod locknut <D. master cylinder
mounting
bo lts CZl and brake hose union bolt Q) to the speci-
fied torque.
(!1 Master cylinder rod locknut (1) :
18 N·m (1.8 kgl-m, 13.0 Ib -It)
Master cylinder mounting bolt (lJ:
10 N·m (1 .0 kgl-m, 7.0 Ib-It)
Brake hose union bolt @: 23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m , 16 . 5Ib-ft)
I CAUTION I
• The removed brake hose washers should be
replaced
with new ones.
• Bleed air from the system after reassembling the
brake master
cylinder . ( c::7 2-19)
