DRIVE CHAIN
Inspect
drive
chain each time the
motorcycle
Is rid-
den.
Visually check the drive chain for the possible defects listed
below. (Support the motorcycle by a jack and a wooden block,
tum the rear wheel slowly by hand with the transmission shifted
to Neutral.)

• Damaged
rollers

Dry
or rusted links
•
Kinked or binding links
NOTE:
•
Excess

wear
• Improper chain adjustment
• Missing O-ring seals
When
replacing
the
drive chain, rep/ace the drive chain and
sprockets as a set.
CHECKING
• Place
the vehicle on a level ground .

Remove
the
rear
brake
caliper.
• Loosen the rear axle housing set bolts ® and @ .

Tense the drive chain fully by turning both chain adjusters
