• Connect the electric tachometer or the multi circuit tester to
the high-tension cord.
• Start the engine and set the engine idle speed between 1 400
and 1 600 r/min by turning the throttle stop scr ew <D.

ENGINE OIL AND OIL FILTER
Replace Ini ti ally at 1 month and every 6 months there -
after.
The oil should be changed white the engine is warm. 0 11 filter
replacement at the above intervals, should be done together
with the engine oil change.
ENGINE OIL REPLACEMENT
• Place an oil pan u nder the drain plug CD on the crankcase and
drain
plug ~ on the oil tank. Then drain out the engine oil by
removing the engi ne oil drain plug CD . ~ and engine oil filler
cap @.
• Reinstall the drain plug <D , (2l and gasket. Tighten the engine
oil drain plug (j) and ~ to the specified torque, and then pour
the new oil through the oi l filler hole. When performing an oil
change (without oil fitter replacement), the engine will hold
about 2.0 L (2.1 US qt, 1.8 Imp qt) of oil. Use an engine oil
that meets the API service classifications SF or SG and that
has a viscosity rating of SAE lOW-40 .

(2) : 12 N·m (1 .2 kgf·m . 8.5 Ib·lt)
• Install the oil filler cap @ .
• Start the engine and allow it to run for a few minutes at idling
speed.
• Turn off the engine and wait about three minutes, and then
check the oil level on the dipstick @. If the level is below
upper line, add oi l to that level. The vehicle must be in a level
position for accurate measurement.
