ENGINE
CAM CHAIN TENSION ADJUSTER AND TEN-
SIONER
Check that the push rod slides smoothly when unlocking the
ratchet mechanism

push rod does not slide smoothly, replace the cam chain ten-
sion adjuster with a
new
one
.
Check the contacting surface of the cam chain tensioner and
cam chain guide.
If
it
is found to be
damaged
, raplace
it
with a
new
one
.

DISTORTION
Check the gasket surface of the cylinder block for distortion
using a straightedge and thickness gauge.
Take
clearance read-
ings at
several places. If
any
clearance reading exceeds
the
ser-
vice limit, replace the
cylinder blo
ck
with a
new
one.
