• Shift the transmission to the neutral position, turn the ignition
switch to the
wOW position.
• Pr ess the starter button and allow the engine to turn f or a few
seconds, an d th en measure the pickup coil and signal coil
peak voltage.
• Repeat the above procedu re a few times and measure the
highest pickup
coil and signal coil peak vo ltage.
~ Tester knob indication : Voltage ( :-:-: )
_ Pickup call peak voltage : More than 2.0 V
Signal call peak voltage : More than 0.1 V
PICKUP COIL
AND SIGNAL COIL RESISTANCE
•
Disconnect the generator coupler <D .
Measure the resistance between the lead wires using the multi
circuit lest er . If the resistance is not within the spcified value, the
pickup
coil and signal coil must be replaced.

\ ~ Tester knob indication: Resistance (0)
_ Pickup coil resistance: 350 - 670 n (Blue - Green)
Signal coil resistance: 0. 09 - 0.5 n (Black - White)
