BRAKE PAD REPLACEMENT
• Remove the front wheel. (!6-10)
• Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts
1 and brake pad
mounting pins

• Remove the brake pads.

• Install the new brake pads.
NOTE:
* Before installing the new pads, inspect the pad mounting pins
for wear. If excessive wear is found, replace them with new
ones.
* The shim must be installed to the calipe piston side pad.
* Make sure that the detent of pad is fitted to the detent on the
brake caliper holder.
• Tighten the brake pad mounting pins
3 and brake caliper
mounting bolts
4 to the specified torque.
# Brake pad mounting pin: 18 N·m (1.8 kgf-m, 13.0 lb-ft)
Brake caliper mounting bolt:
26 N·m (2.6 kgf-m, 19.0 lb-ft)
NOTE:
After replacing the brake pads, pump the brake lever several
times to check for proper brake operation and then check the
brake fluid level.
* Do not operate the brake lever during or after brake
pad removal.
* Replace the brake pads as a set, otherwise braking
performance will be adversely affected.
