• After the crankcase bolts have been tightened, check if the
crankshaft, countershaft, and driveshaft rotate smoothly. If a
large resistance is felt to rotation, try to free the shafts by tap-
ping them with a plastic mallet.
STARTER CLUTCH AND GENERATOR
ROTOR
• Remove the grease from the tapered portion of the crankshaft
and the generator rotor.
• Install the starter driven gear
1 and key
2.
• Tighten the generator rotor nut to the specified torque using
a 27-mm offset wrench.
