RemovingtheEngine
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingunits,stopengine,engage
parkingbrakeandremovekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Openandremovetheenginehoodfromthemachine.Slideseatallthe
wayforward.
3.Disconnecttheairhosefromtheaircleanerandradiator.Removeaircleaner
fromtheengine;refertoRemovingtheAirCleanerAssembly(page4–4).
4.Disconnectbothbatterycablesatthebattery(seeServicingtheBattery
(page6–49)).
5.Removemuferfromtheexhaustmanifoldandmuferbracket;referto
RemovingtheExhaustSystem(page4–7).
DANGER
Iftheradiatororengineishot,pressurizedhotcoolantcanescape
andcauseburns.
Donotopentheradiatorcapordraintheradiatorwhenthecoolant
ishot.
WARNING
Ethylene-glycolantifreezeispoisonous.
Keepthecoolantawayfromchildrenandpets.
Keepthecoolantinalabelledcontainer.
Discardthecoolantinaccordancewithlocalhazardouswaste
ordinances.
6.Drainradiatorfromthedraincockvalveintoasuitablecontainer.Disconnect
coolanthosesfromthewaterpumpandengineblock;refertoRemovingthe
RadiatorandOilCoolerAssembly(page4–12).
7.Removereservoirandbracketfromthetopfanshroud.Removetopfan
shroudfromtheradiator;refertoRemovingtheRadiatorandOilCooler
Assembly(page4–12).
