•Gradually increase engine RPM for up to 30 minutes to allow hydraulic oil to warm up. To assist in
warming up the hydrostatic system, move control levers back and forth.
NOTICE: Slow down engine if hydraulic pump squeals because it does not get enough oil.
For frequent starts below 10°F (-12°C), consult your Vermeer dealer.
Shutdown Procedure
Step 1: Shut off drilling fluid pump.
Step 2: Reduce engine speed to idle.
Step 3: Wait 2 minutes to shut off engine when shutting down after operating at full power.
Step 4: Shut off engine and remove key.
For your safety and the safety of others, use shutdown procedure before working on the machine for any reason,
including servicing, cleaning, unplugging, or inspecting.
NOTICE: If working on the drill string or drill tools at a remote location away from the machine, use correct
lockout procedures.
