Jump-starting the engine
Explosion hazard in case of incorrect handling of battery!
Incorrect battery handling can cause serious injuries or death.
► Do not jump start the engine if the battery is malfunctioning or frozen.
► Do not smoke, avoid fire and open flames.
► Do not connect the battery jumper cable of the starting battery to the
negative terminal of the discharged battery. Connect the battery
jumper cable onto a solid metal component fimly screwed on the
engine block or onto the engine block itself.
Damage to machine due to electrical short-circuit or overvoltage.
► The positive terminal of the starting battery must not be brought into
contact with electrically conductive vehicle parts.
Damage to machine due to higher battery voltage.
► Only use batteries with the same voltage (12 V).
Damage to the electrical system of the machine.
► The vehicles must not touch each other during the starting aid.
Damage to consumers of vehicle with discharged battery due to voltage
peaks.
► Switch off all consumers.
Damage to battery jumper cables when placing them near rotating parts.
► Do not place the battery jumper cables near rotating parts.
Use only authorized battery jumper cables which conform to the safety
requirements and which are in perfect condition.
