Serial Number Format
Changes to Xerox products are made to accommodate improved components as they
become available. It is important when ordering parts to include the following
information:
■ Component's part number
■ Product type or model number
■ Serial number of the printer
The serial number is found on a label located on the frame of the printer just inside the
Tray 2 opening. Tray 2 must be removed to see it.
The nine-digit serial number has the following format:
PPP-SSSSSS
PPP = product code, as shown in the following table.
SSSSSS = Numeric serial number.
For example, a printer having PMT219638 as its Serial Number:
■ Is a 110 V Phaser 4500 Printer
■ Has a 219638 serial number
