• Place a block of wood between the anti-
cavitation plate and the propeller. Do not
touch the propeller with your hands.
• Disconnect the battery cable, and remove
the lock plate for the engine stop switch
to prevent the engine from starting.
7. Disconnect the speedometer hose.

8. Put the alignment mark A on the trim tab
1 and remove it. Remove the lower unit
from the upper case after loosening and
removing the bolts.

NOTE:
Mounting bolt appears when the trim tab is
removed. Make sure that the mounting bolt is
removed as well.
Removing the lower unit
1. Disconnect the battery cable.
2. Remove the lock plate for the engine stop
switch.
3. Set the gear shift in neutral position.
4. Remove the drain screw, and the check
screw to drain the gear oil.

5. Remove the cotter pin.
6. Place a block of wood between the anti-
cavitation plate and the propeller, and re-
move the propeller.
