3. If the fluid level is low, add sufficient fluid of
the recommended type until it overflows out
of the filler hole.
4. Install the reservoir cap 2, and tighten it
to the specified torque.

1. Fully tilt up the outboard motor and sup-
port it with the tilt stop lever 1.

After tilting up the outboard motor, be sure
to support it with the tilt stop lever

1. Oth-
erwise, the outboard motor could suddenly
lower if the power trim and tilt unit should
lose fluid pressure.
2. Remove the reservoir cap 2 and check the
fluid level in the reservoir.

NOTE:
If the fluid is at the correct level, the fluid should
overflow out of the filler hole when the cap 2
is removed.

Reserver cap 2:
0.7 Nm (0.07 kgfm, 0.5 ftlb)
