3.3 Configuration with Real-Time collector
To establish connection between the Instrument and AADI Real-Time collector you need to decide how to connect. If
you are using a USB connection follow the instructions in chapter 3.4.1, USB is the most used connection for
SeaGuardII and SmartGuard. If you are using a serial connection follow the instruction in chapter 3.4.2, this connection
is most used with SeaGuard including plug assembly and Real-Time connected instruments. If you want to use the
touch screen (only available with SeaGuard) then jump to CHAPTER 5.
3.3.1 Connected via SeaGuardII
Connect the micro USB configuration cable between the USB connector in front of the instrument and to the PC
Install and start the AADI Real-Time Collector software on your PC (provided on the Memory stick delivered
with the instrument if ordered). For more information about the AADI Real-Time Collector, refer TD 268 AADI

Switch on the instrument by pressing the power button in the front of the instrument.
Wait approximately 30 seconds before the instruments starts up and connection is available.
3.3.2 Connected via SmartGuard
Connect the USB configuration cable between the USB connector on the left hand side of the SmartGuard and
the USB port on your PC
Install and start the AADI Real-Time Collector software on your PC (provided on the Memory stick delivered
with the instrument if ordered). For more information about the AADI Real-Time Collector, refer TD 268 AADI

Switch on the logger by turning the power switch to the “ON”- position.
Wait approximately 30 seconds before the logger starts up and connection is available.
3.3.3 Connected via SeaGuard with plug assembly 5561
Connect the 0-modem cable between the serial port in front of the instrument and the computer RS-232 port. If
your computer have no serial port you might use a Keyspan USB to serial converter or simmilar.
Install and start the AADI Real-Time Collector software on your PC (provided on the Memory stick delivered
with the instrument if ordered). For more information about the AADI Real-Time Collector, refer TD 268 AADI

Switch on the instrument by pressing the power button in the front of the instrument.
Wait approximately 20 seconds before the instruments starts up and connection is available.
