Troubleshooting and Error Messages
Heated Zone Temperatures
Open or short
Heated zone temperature errors can result from electrical
problems or insulation problems.
If the actual temperature reads “open” or “short”, the
temperature sensor for that zone is disconnected or damaged.
Call an Agilent service representative.
Zone at or near ambient
If the actual temperature is near ambient, check the following:
• Zone setpoint is “0” or OFF. See page 52.
• The fuse for the heated zone is blown. Call an Agilent service
representative.
Zone does not stabilize
If the actual oven temperature is slow to respond or does not
reach the setpoint, check the following:
• The oven lid is closed and the latches locked.
• The loop heated zone cover sits flush with the base of the
pneumatic compartment.
• The line voltage selector is set correctly. For example, if the
voltage at the electrical outlet is from 90 to 132 VAC, the line
voltage selector switch is set to 115 VAC.
Analysis aborted due to temperature error
During a run if the actual temperature is outside the range of
±4 °C the instrument aborts the sequence and posts an error
message. If this occurs, check the following:
• The oven lid is closed and the latches locked.
• The loop heated zone cover sits flush with the base of the
pneumatic compartment.
• Call an Agilent service representative.
