Communication Between the PC and Headspace Sampler
This type of problem results from a break in the communication
between the computer and the Headspace Sampler. Check the
cable connections between the computer and the sampler.
Check the following for Headspace Samplers set up with a LAN
connection:
• The Headspace Sampler and computer have compatible
network addresses. For example, the IP address are
compatible on the same network.
• The Enable RS-232 setting is OFF. See Advanced Function 16
on page 83.
• The LAN address is correct. See Advanced Function 14 on
page 82. Reset or power cycle the Headspace Sampler for IP
address changes to take effect.
• Use the ping command from a PC command window to test
the connection.
Check the following for a Headspace Sampler with an RS-232
connection:
• The com port settings are correct. Bits per second: 9600;
Data bits: 8; Parity: None; Stop bits: 1; Flow control:
Hardware.
• The Enable RS-232 setting is ON. See Advanced Function 16
on page 83.
