Multiple Headspace Extraction: Standard
In this MHE mode, the Headspace Sampler samples each vial
multiple times. The GC receives a start signal after each
extraction from the vial. See Multiple Headspace Extraction on
page 75 for more details. Usually, four extractions per vial are
adequate to obtain a good log (area) versus extraction number
graph for quantitative work if appropriate temperature and
equilibration times are set.
Multiple Headspace Extraction: Conc mode
In this MHE mode, the Headspace Sampler samples a vial
multiple times to concentrate the analytes at the head of the GC
column or in a cryo trap at the GC inlet. The GC receives a start
signal after the final extraction from the vial. See Multiple
Headspace Extraction on page 75 for more details. This
technique is useful for maximum sensitivity.
