[SENSe:]VOLTage:{AC|DC}:RANGe:AUTO {OFF|ON|ONCE}
[SENSe:]VOLTage:{AC|DC}:RANGe:AUTO?
Disables or enables autoranging for AC and DC voltage measurements and for DC ratio measurements. Autoranging is
convenient because it automatically selects the range for each measurement based on the input signal.
Specifying ONCE performs an immediate autorange and then turns autoranging off.
This parameter is not shared between AC and DCmeasurements. The parameters are independent for AC
and DCmeasurements.
The maximum range parameter (MAX) is 1000 V. However, the SAFETY
LIMIT on the front and rear HI/LO input terminals is 750 VAC (rms). The rms
voltage is waveform dependent. A sine wave is limited to 750 VAC (rms), but
a 1000 Vpk square wave is safe. Connection to AC mains power is further
limited to CAT II (300 V). See Safety and Regulatory Information for more
information on the safety features and the safe operation of this instrument.
Parameter Typical Return
{ON|1|OFF|0}, default ON 0(OFF)or1(ON)
Configure DC voltage measurements and perform an immediate autorange. Make and read two measurements:

Typical Response: +1.04530000E+01,+1.04570000E+01
l Autoranging goes down a range at less than 10% of range and up a range at greater than 120% of range.
l With autoranging enabled, the instrument selects the range based on the input signal.
l Selecting a fixed range ([SENSe:]<function>:RANGe) disables autoranging.
l This parameter is set to its default value after a Factory Reset (*RST) or Instrument Preset (SYSTem:PRESet).
[SENSe:]VOLTage[:DC]:IMPedance:AUTO {ON|1|OFF|0}
[SENSe:]VOLTage[:DC]:IMPedance:AUTO?
Disables or enables automatic input impedance mode for DC voltage and ratio measurements.
Parameter Typical Return
{ON|1|OFF|0}, default OFF 0(OFF)or1(ON)
Make all DC voltage measurements with a 10 MΩ input impedance:
VOLT:IMP:AUTO OFF
l OFF: the input impedance for DC voltage measurements is fixed at 10 MΩ for all ranges to minimize noise pickup.
l ON: the input impedance for DC voltage measurements varies by range. It is set to "HI-Z" (>10 GΩ) for the 100
mV, 1 V, and 10 V ranges to reduce the effects of measurement loading errors on these lower ranges. The 100 V
and 1000 V ranges remain at a 10 MΩ input impedance.
l The CONFigure and MEASure? commands automatically select "AUTO OFF".
l This parameter is set to its default value after a Factory Reset (*RST) or Instrument Preset (SYSTem:PRESet).
