Operation
54 Edition 01/2016 multi EA 4000
8. Attach the hose for the oxygen supply to
the gas airlock and secure it with the union
nut.
9. To secure the gas hose in a bend without
kinking, place the hose into the clip on the
right-hand side of the analyzer panel and
twist the clip.
Checking the halide trap and drying tube
Make sure that the drying tube is filled with magnesium perchlorate and quartz wool
is only present in the lower part of the tube.
For C detection install the halide trap filled with copper and brass wool in the gas
path.
For S detection remove the halide trap and connect an empty U tube instead.
IMPORTANT
The halide trap absorbs sulfur. Therefore, the use of the halide trap must be evaluated
for
C/S detection. Dependent on the matrix it is recommended for low sulfur concentrations not
to use a halide trap, but the halide trap should be installed in the gas path for higher conce
n-
trations.
