10.4.6 Using the manual sample feed
Install the manual sample feed as follows:
1 gas airlock

ceramic boat
3
storage area
4 ceramic hook

1. Position the manual sample feed in
front of the gas airlock. Align the sam-
ple feed until the ceramic boat is
moved exactly centered into the gas
airlock.
The distance between the sample feed
and the gas airlock should be approx.
2 mm.
2. Place a boat with its eye on the hook
of the sample feed and move the boat
into the furnace.
Caution:
Only hold the hook from the handle.
There is a risk of burns at the hot fur-
nace.
Make sure that the boat does not get
wedged, otherwise correct the position
of the sample feed.
3. Using pliers remove the hot boats from the hook and place them onto the storage
area to cool down.
