Removing
Existing
ROM
Chip
Note:
Remove
existing
ROM
only
if
ROM
present
on
Keyboard
is
version
1.0
or
below.
ROMs
1.1
and
above
are
compatible
with
mouse.

Locate
the
existing
24-pin
ROM
chip
to
be
replaced.
2.
Carefully
remove
the
chip
by
prying
it
up
from
its
socket.
Installing
New
ROM
Chip
1.
Put
on
the
wrist
strap
and
connect
to
ground
or
touch
the
metal
chassis
before
picking
up
the
ROM
chip
to
release
the
static
electricity
from
your
hand.
2.
Align
the
ROM
chip
pins
(A)
with
a
socket
(B)
(Figure
3-56).
Make
sure
that
the
notch
in
the
chip
(C)
is
facing
the
same
direction
as
the
other
chips
on
the
board.
Push
chip
down
firmly
to
insert.
