Cleaning
Keyboard
Contacts
Some
keyboards
have
shown
the
symptom
of
not
registering
a
pressed
key
or
keys.
In
many
cases,
this
problem
is
caused
by
dust,
cigarette
ashes,
or
dirt
getting
under
the
key
mechanism.
This
prevents
the
key
mechanism
from
making
proper
contact
with
the
Printed
Circuit
Board
located
under
the
keyboard.
1.
Turn
power
switch
OFF.
2.
Locate
the
troubled
key.
3.
Place
a
small
flathead
screwdriver
beneath
each
side
of
the
key
cap.
4.
Gently
pry
off
the
key
cap
using
the
two
screwdrivers.
5.
Locate
the
two
clips
on
the
key
mechanism
that
connects
the
key
mechanism
with
the
keyboard.

6.
Using
two
screwdrivers,
gently
press
the
clips
on
the
key
mechanism
towards
its
center
with
a
lifting
motion.
The
^
mechanism
should
easily
come
out
of
its
mounting
hole.
