The
Fixed
Drive
and
NEC765
Floppy
Tests
are
performed
sequentially.
The
disk
drive
is
initialized,
and
the
disk
drive
test
is
performed.
Track
zero,
side
zero
is
read
on
all
ready
disk
drives
in
the
particular
hardware
disk
drive
configuration.

If
a
failure
is
detected
on
a
ready
drive,
a
"Floppy(A:)
Not
Ready,"
"Floppy(B:)
Not
Ready,"
or
"Fixed
Disk
Not
Ready"
message
is
sent
to
the
Display.
Otherwise,
you
are
informed
that
the
appropriate
drive
is
Ready.
This
informs
you
that
the
software
recognizes
that
the
drive
is
present
from
the
system
configuration
switches.
25.
Control
is
transferred
to
the
boot-strap
loader
that
loads
an
operating
system
from
the
ready
floppy
drive
(A:)
or
from
a
valid
bootable
partition
on
the
fixed
disk.
Error
Messages

The
Display
is
used
to
report
Pass/Fail
messages
regarding

each
test.
The
Resident
Diagnostic
error
messages
are
listed
in
Figure
4-1
along
with
a
brief
explanation
of
the
message.
