STAND-ALONE LOW-LEVEL FORMAT
UTILITY TEST
The utility will allow the user to Low-Level Format a hard disk,
enter bad tracks in a table, verify surface, and mark them on
HDU.
The basic operations performed are to;
1. Low-Level Format a HDU and determine the "Optimal
Interleave Factor."
2. Get bad track information from the user.
3. Execute the "VERIFY SURFACE" test.
5. Mark every bad sector in a track.

The Stand-Alone Low-Level Format (LLF) Utility Test is similar
to the Hard Disk Test portion of the PC 6300 System Test, but has _
a professional presentation for a better user interface. j [
The utility is compatible with either the Western Digital ^
Controller (WD) or the Data Technology Controller (DTC). It will j j
detect which hard disk controller is installed (WD or DTC). This ~
information is displayed on the screen.
