When the return is pressed, the screen will clear and a message is
displayed.
If you have a good DMA chip, the following message appears:
DMA TEST PASSED
If you have a bad DMA chip, the following message appears:
##### DMA TEST ERROR !• ■
The DMA controller chip 8237 failed.
The bug occurs when 2 or more channels
of DMA are used at the same time. Most
high speed tape drives and some network
interface cards will be affected.
This is the only diagnostic that will
find the problem, since other diagnostics
test one channel at a time.
Press <return> to exit -
Note: The DMA test will try to write to a floppy in
drive A. The floppy must not be write protected.
At the end of the test, press "return" to exit the program.
