Make sure the vacuum pump is turned on,
and not leaking; the waste bottle has not
overflowed and its caps are seated
correctly. If the pump is not running, the
fuse may be blown. But, before replacing the
fuse, first try to determine and remedy the
cause of the failure. If the pump sounds
strained or runs slowly, it may be damaged.
