UPnP Discovery Service
From the Ad mi nist rato n > Netw o rk Se rv ic e Dis c ove ry > U PnP
Discovery Service window, you can enable UPnP dis c overy serv ic e. Wh en a
device is added to the network, the UPnP discovery protocol allows the device to
advertise its servic es to the control points on the network. By enab ling the UPnP
Discovery Service, the NAS can be discovered by any operating systems that
support UPnP.
To enable UP nP dis c overy serv ic e :
STEP 1 Click Adm in ist ration > N etwork Servic e Discovery > UPn P Dis c ov ery Serv ic e
from the Navigation menu. The UPnP Discovery Service window opens.
STEP 2 Click Enab le UP nP S er v ic e .
STEP 3 Click Apply to save the s et ting.
Bonjour
From the Administraton > Network Service Discovery > Bonjour window, you can
broadcast the network services using Bonjour. By broadcasting the network
services with Bonjour, your Mac and Windows will automatically discover the
network ser vices, such as F TP, which are running on the NAS without the need to
enter the IP add res s e s or c onfigure the DNS s erver s .
