Getting Started
This chapter describes the front and back panels of the NAS, how to physically
install your NAS, and how to configure your NAS using the Cisco Setup Wizard or
LCD panel. If you are a new NAS user, we recommend that you to use the Setup
Wizard that is availab le on the product CD.
The Setup Wizard will help you with:

Installing the Disk Drives
•
Connecting the Equipment
•
Starting NAS Configuration
•
Mapping a Network Drive
•
Installing the Client Utility for Windows
Before You Begin
Before you begin the installation, make sure that you have the following equipment
and services:
• Internet connectivity (optional).
• Sma ll Phillips screw dr iver.
• Ethernet sw itch or router.
• 1-6 S ATA 2.5-inc h dis k dr ive s or 3.5 -inc h dis k dr ive s (not include d w ith
some mo dels) . It is not required that the disk dr ives be the sa me phy sica l
size.
• Uninterruptible Power S upply (UPS ) , with a USB conn ec tion, whic h is able
to supply power for 10 minutes or more with at least 350 watts of capacity.
Strongly recommended to provide backup power and reduce the risk of
