Removal and replacement of ADU modules
99-145912-A Chapter 8: Service & maintenance 8-35
To insert a new PCM follow the instructions above in reverse order.
8.6.7 To replace motor and encoder
The ADU is equipped with three DC-motors, two of which are identical,
and one step motor, for the axes:
•Elevation (DC motor).
• Azimuth (DC motor).
• Cross Elevation (DC motor).
The DC-motors are all brush-less motors, controlled by their individual
DDM. To each of the DC-motors a corresponding encoder provides
feedback of its position.
For step-by-step instructions see:
To replace the Elevation Motor and Encoder on page 8-36
To replace the Azimuth Motor on page 8-38
To replace the X Elevation Motor and Encoder on page 8-45
To replace the X Elevation Motor and Encoder on page 8-45
After installing a new PCM you must update the
calibration data. For instructions see To update
VIM2/PCM calibration data on page 8-67.
