Setting Low-Battery Warning Beeps—
To hear warning beeps
when the computer reaches a low-battery condition, click the On
radio button. To disable low-battery warning beeps, click the Off
radio button.
To adjust the volume of low-battery warning beeps, press
Fn+F5
to
display volume settings in a pop-up window. Press the right and
left cursor keys to adjust volume. Press the down cursor key to test
your setting.
For information about other low-battery indicators, refer to
Chapter 5.
Using CD-ROM Auto Insert Notification—
On a computer
running Windows NT, the Battery Conservation tab also includes
a CD-ROM Auto Insert Notification checkbox.

Place a check in this checkbox to enable system-initiated
Suspend while a CD is in a CD-ROM drive.
■
Remove the check to disable system-initiated Suspend while a
CD is in a CD-ROM drive.
User-initiated Suspend is not affected by this checkbox.
NOTE:
On a computer running Windows 95, the CD-ROM Auto
Insert Notification checkbox is accessed through Device Manager
and does not appear on the Battery Conservation Settings tab. To
access the Auto Insert Notification checkbox in Windows 95,
ensure that a CD-ROM drive is inserted, then click Start

Hibernation Tab
At the Hibernation tab you can turn Hibernation on and off,
set Hibernation timeouts, and specify a location for the
Hibernation file.
Turning Hibernation On and Off—
When Hibernation is
turned off, both user-initiated and system-initiated Hibernation
are disabled and no other settings on the Hibernation tab
are selectable.
CAUTION:
If Hibernation is turned off, resolve a low-battery
condition immediately to prevent the loss of unsaved work.
