2.2 GLOBAL EXTERNAL ON/OFF SWITCH DETECT
This sets the type of switch the Omni2 expects to be connected to the External On/Off Switch Jack, and the subsequent
behavior of the system.
The programmable options are On, Off and Limp.
If set to On, the Omni2 will expect a switch with a 220 Ohm resistor connected in series with its contacts and a 270 Ohm
resistor connected across its contacts to be connected to the External On/Off Switch Jack, so will be able to detect both open-
and short-circuits in the switch or its wiring. If such conditions are detected, a trip will occur.
NOTE (HP, IN)
To maximize the error-checking capability, the resistors must be fitted as physically close as possible to the switch contacts.
If set to Off, the Omni2 will not check for errors in the external circuitry connected to the External On/Off Switch Jack and a
standard external switch can be used.
If set to Limp, the Omni2 will expect a switch with a 220 Ohm resistor connected in series with its contacts and a 270 Ohm
resistor connected across its contacts to be connected to the External On/Off Switch Jack, so will be able to detect both open-
and short-circuit in the switch or its wiring. If such conditions are detected, the system will still allow drive but at a reduced
speed and will issue visual and audible warnings.
WARNING (HP, IN)
For a truly fail-safe system, Curtiss-Wright recommend that an On/Off Switch incorporating a resistor network is fitted.
Curtiss-Wright accept no liability for losses of any kind arising from the use of any other switch.
2.3 GLOBAL SCAN SPEED
This sets the scanning rate of the drive screen when using a Single Switch Scanner-Type SID.
The programmable range is between 0.3s and 5.0s in 0.1s steps.
2.4 GLOBAL SCAN FREEZE IN MODE
This allows the Omni2 Scanner functionality to be used to control another external scanning device, via an IOM.
If this parameter is selected, a drop-down menu as below will appear.
