6.2 Mounting the measuring device
6.2.1 Required tools
For transmitter
For mounting on a post:
Proline 500 transmitter
Open-ended wrench AF 13
For wall mounting:
Drill with drill bit ⌀ 6.0 mm
For sensor
For installation on the measuring pipe: use a suitable mounting tool
6.2.2 Preparing the measuring device
1. Remove all remaining transport packaging.
2. Remove stick-on label on the electronics compartment cover.
6.2.3 Mounting the measuring device

Install the measuring device or turn the transmitter housing so that the cable entries do
not point upwards.


6.2.4 Mounting the sensor

Suitable gloves and goggles must be worn due to the increased risk of cuts.

Wear suitable protective equipment such as temperature-resistant protective gloves,
clothing or protective visors.

Before commencing work: allow the system and measuring device to cool to a touch-
safe temperature.
High-temperature applications (> 170°C)

• Installation for high-temperature applications may only be performed by Endress
+Hauser staff or by individuals authorized and trained by Endress+Hauser.
