Resolving the No Prox Encoder Error Message
Symptom: The Printer is receiving encoding data, but the Printer is not configured with this
Encoder type.
Step Procedure
1 Verify that the LCD Settings are correct.
a. Press Select on the LCD.
b. Select Setup Printer. Scroll down to Encoder Settings.
c. Change the Prox Setting from None to Installed.
2 Check the appropriate software user’s manual for specific encoding
instructions if the encoding data was sent in error.
Resolving the No Smart Encoder Error Message
Symptom: The Printer is receiving encoding data, but the Printer is not configured with this
Encoder type.
Step Procedure
1 Verify that the LCD Setting are correct.
a. Press Select on the LCD.
b. Select Setup Printer. Scroll down to Encoder Settings.
c. Change the Smart Setting from None to Installed.
2 Check the software user’s manual for encoding instructions if the encoding
data was sent in error.
