Chapter 7: Controller Software
Network prefix length: The subnet mask used in the WLAN network.
DNS 1: First dynamic name server to use in the WLAN network.
DNS 2: Second dynamic name server to use in the WLAN network.
Security: Choose the security protocol that the access point to which the
scanner will connect uses. The possible options are:
Open: Connect to an open network that can be accessed by anyone
without a password. The information exchange is not secured.
WEP: Connect to a network that is secured by WEP. This option requires
an encryption key with 8 to 63 characters. This security level is insecure.
WPA: First version of the WLAN Protected Access. Not recommended.
WPA2 PSK: Connect to a network that is secured by WPA2. This option
requires an encryption key with 8 to 63 characters. This is the default/
recommended option.
Encryption key
The scanner network is encrypted with a WPA2 key. Enter this key on your
remote device when prompted to establish the connection to the scanner. If
you want to change the encryption key, tap the button and enter your own key.
The key must consist of 10 to 63 arbitrary digits.
Proxy Settings
Settings related to connection through a proxy.
No Proxy: Don't use a proxy. Choose this option if the network that the
scanner will connect to has direct Internet access.
Manual: Use a manually configured proxy. Configuration includes:
Host: The host name (or IP address) of the proxy server.
Port: The port through which to connect to the proxy server.
Exclusion List: A comma-separated list of hosts for which no proxy will
be used.
User Name: The user name used to log in to the proxy server (if
required).
Password: The password used to log in to the proxy server (if required).
