to H
2
S. A 3 way solenoid valve is used to direct the gas either into the total sulfur conversion
furnace (in this case total sulfur will be measured) or not into the total sulfur conversion
furnace (in this case only H
2
S will be measured). The analyzer can be configured to
alternately measure H
2
S and Total Sulfur.
1.3.3 Total Sulfur Only
The total sulfur only configuration allows the user to measure the total sulfur content of a gas
stream. In this case the analyzer is equipped with a total sulfur conversion furnace which will
convert any sulfur bearing compounds in the gas to H
2
S.
1.4 Features of the Analyzer
The analyzer provides the following capabilities:
The ability to measurement the H
2
S concentration over a 0-500 ppm range without dilution -
at least 12 times greater than traditional tape analyzers.
A single analyzer can monitor up to four streams using different ranges. This multirange
capability replaces the need for separate analyzers calibrated each for separate streams
Sensitivity as low as 10 ppb
Rapid response
Optical tape counter ensures exact spacing of stains and keeps track of tape consumption
Unique humidifier system using a permeable membrane reduces dead volume providing
faster response time
Rapid measurement of the extent to which H2S exceeds pre-set alarm levels.
If the total sulfur option is included, H2S and total sulfur can be measured in different
ranges on the same analyzer.
Low Operation and Maintenance Costs
Uninterrupted operation with dual redundant AC and DC power supply
Optional Ethernet communication
USB port with easy to use Windows based PC software
Enhanced data logging allows for up to ten months of data storage for complete audit trail
and trouble shooting and report generation.
Built-in MODBUS communications / RTU capabilities and a large number of outputs and
inputs with sensor auto-calibration on each analysis and dual redundant power supply.
1.5 System Operating Control
The analyzer is controlled by a dedicated data acquisition system which provides supervisory
control, performs all calculations and provides the user interface.
The system includes an onboard computer system which provides full screen display of the
H
2
S concentration and total sulfur concentration (if the total sulfur option is present), key
system control parameters and their status.
A hand held key pad is provided for user interface with the analyzer. Operation of the system
with the keypad is described in Section 4. As an alternative, a PC based graphical user
interface (GUI) can be used to view and enter information on a remote basis (Section 5).
