Enabling or disabling Memory Clear on Warm Reset
Use the Memory Clear on Warm Reset option to configure when memory is cleared on warm resets.
Disabling this option can save boot time by skipping the clearing of memory on warm resets.
Procedure
1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration
(RBSU) > System Options > Boot Time Optimizations > Memory Clear on Warm Reset.
2. Select a setting.
• Enabled—Memory is cleared on all reboots.
• Disabled—Memory is only cleared on a warm reset when requested by the operating system.
3. Save your setting.
Configuring Serial Port Options
Assigning an Embedded Serial Port
Use the Embedded Serial Port option to assign a logical COM port address and associated default
resources to a selected physical serial port.
Prerequisite
For proper screen resolution, set the console resolution in the terminal software to 100x31.
Procedure
1. From the System Utilities screen, select System Configuration > BIOS/Platform Configuration
(RBSU) > System Options > Serial Port Options > Embedded Serial Port.
2. Select a setting.
• COM 1: IRQ4: I/0: 3F8h-3FFh
• COM 2: IRQ3: I/0: 2F8h-2FFh
• Disabled
3. Save your setting.
Assigning a Virtual Serial Port
Use the Virtual Serial Port option to assign a logical COM port address and the associated default
resources used by the Virtual Serial Port (VSP). VSP enables the iLO Management Controller to appear
as a physical serial port to support the BIOS Serial Console and the operating system serial console.
Prerequisite
For proper screen resolution, set the console resolution in the terminal software to 100x31.
