CAUTION:CAUTION: To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all bays are populated with
either a component or a blank.
ProcedureProcedure
1. Remove the front bezel.
2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. If the server is in tower mode, place the server on a flat, level surface with the access panel facing up .
6. If the server is in rack mode, do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack .
Remove the server from the rack .
7. Remove the drive box blank:
a. Remove the drive box blank screws (callout 1).
b. Remove the drive box blank (callout 2).
ResultsResults
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
