● When equipped with E7 v2 or E7 v3 processors, the RH8100 V3 supports the
DIMM hot swap function. The prerequisite is that live memory migration is
enabled.See Step 1 to Step 4 in 7.6 Conguring the BIOS.
● Memory board hot swap can be performed only once within a power cycle of
the RH8100 V3. To remove a memory board after memory board hot swap has
been performed within a power cycle, power
o the server and perform Step 3.
For details about how to power o a server, see 6.2 Powering O the RH8100
V3.
● If you need to replace the memory board or DIMMs online, contact Huawei
technical support to
conrm the replacement solution based on the critical
operation process to avoid service interruption.
● When equipped with E7 v4 processors, the RH8100 V3 does not support the
DIMM hot swap function.
1. Select one of the following migration methods:
Migrate data to a spare memory board only when the CPU usage and
memory usage are both less than 50%. Otherwise, services may be aected.
– To migrate data to a spare memory board using the iBMC WebUI, go to
Step 2.2.
– To migrate data to a spare memory board by pressing the button on the
faulty memory board, go to Step 2.3.
2. (Optional) Choose Diagnosis > Memory Hot-swap, click a memory board
with the green or orange indicator, and click Move Data. See Figure 5-3.
