Function
USB Connect (Default: Serialport)
[MENU] > SET > Function > USB Connect
Selects the mode when connecting the transceiver to
a PC with a USB cable�
Charge Only:
You can only charge the transceiver using a USB
cable�
Serialport:
You can program the transceiver, input/output
D-STAR data, output GPS information, input
weather data, and remotely control the transceiver
using the CI-V commands�
L Information
You need to install the USB driver
When a PC is connected, the USB connection indicator
is displayed on the transceiver
Select the input/output data type in “USB Serialport
Function�”
Confirm that “GPS Select” is set to “ON,” when you output
the received position data�
([MENU] > GPS > GPS Set > GPS Select)
SD Card Mode:
You can transfer the files between the inserted
microSD card and a PC, using a USB cable�
L A confirmation dialog is displayed� (p� 2-9)
NOTE:
To charge from a PC, set “USB Power Input (Phone,
Tablet, PC)” to “ON�”
Use a data communication compatible USB cable when
“Serialport” or “SD Card Mode” is selected�
While in the SD Card Mode, the transceiver works
not as a transceiver but as a data storage device� It
temporarily stops recording and logging�

USB Serialport Function
(Default: CI-V (Echo Back OFF))
[MENU] > SET > Function > USB Serialport Function
Selects the Serialport function for the USB connection
to a data device, PC, and so on�
CI-V (Echo Back OFF):
The CI-V command is input or output
through the USB port� Does not send
back the CI-V command input from the
USB port�
CI-V (Echo Back ON):
The CI-V command is input or output
through the USB port� Sends back the
CI-V command input from the USB port�
DV Data: The DV data is input or output to the USB
port�
NOTE: When “CI-V (Echo Back OFF)” or “CI-V
(Echo Back ON)” is selected, you cannot remotely
control the transceiver through the [SP] jack�
Heterodyne (Default: Normal)
[MENU] > SET > Function > Heterodyne
Selects the 1st Local Oscillator frequency
Depending on a combination of the two operating
frequencies in the Dualwatch mode, the transceiver
might generate a spurious signal on a specific receive
frequency� This may cause the S-meter to fluctuate,
even when no signal is received, for example�
If this occurs, the Heterodyne function may help� The
Heterodyne function shifts the 1st Local Oscillator
frequency to the opposite side of the signal to change
the frequency combination�
