ONE, see [Chapter 6.1.2.]. The time after which the shutdown is triggered varies with the ambient
temperature and load current. At 25°C and 16 A, a complete discharge of the Instagrid ONE (100%
-> 0%) is possible without triggering a shutdown.
• Internal resistance – the internal resistance of the Instagrid ONE limits the possible short-circuit
current to values below 500 A (peak). The current supply capacity of the device is suciently high
to trigger the following two protective mechanisms independent of each other in less than 200 ms
in case of a short-circuit (loop impedance ≤ 1.5 Ω):
• Melting fuse – the current at the output of the Instagrid ONE is limited by a melting fuse type
“25 A fast-acting”. This melting fuse cannot be replaced by the user and is thus protected by
an electronic (‘faster’ reacting) electronic fuse.
• Electronic fuse – during operation, the Instagrid ONE constantly measures the actually
owing output current and emulates the current-time-characteristic of a circuit breaker
type “B16”. The electronic fuse was parameterised so that the melting fuse merely serves as
backup measure.
7.2.2. Further Protective Functions
Other special characteristics of the output voltage are constantly monitored via a concept that also
acts redundantly, e.g.:
• Frequency
• RMS-value of the voltage
• Peak voltage
• DC oset
7.3. Protective Measures at the Input
The charging input [8] is protected against overload by a melting fuse that can be replaced by the user,
if needed, see [Chapter 8.1.].
8. Service and Maintenance
In normal mode, the Instagrid ONE operates maintenance- and service-free. With the exception of
the melting fuse of the charging input [11] and the frame [7], the Instagrid ONE does not comprise any
assemblies or components that can be replaced or serviced by the user.
Caution!
In case of damage to the Instagrid ONE that does not concern the frame[7], the device must be
repaired by authorised specialist personnel. Do not open the Instagrid ONE. Do not start up the
Instagrid ONE on any account. Activate [Transport] mode [Chapter 6.2.] by moving the rotary
switch [3] in position and remove any connected cables and/or consumers. Contact Instagrid,
see [Chapter 12.].
