LOST LINK
1. Visual Contact with Aircraft - Maintain Through Landing
2. Visually confirm ComeHome Procedure
3. Flight Path - Monitor
4. Shutdown Checklists - Complete
In case the connection between Intel
®
Cockpit GCS and UAS gets lost, the UAS will stop and start
a controlled descend at 3 mph (1.5 m/s) at its current position until it lands. If no GPS signal is
available, the UAS will always use Direct Landing, keep itself leveled and descend.
When the system has successfully initialized, an appropriate Link Loss Procedure must be
selected each time the system is switched ON.
In case the connection between the Intel
®
Cockpit GCS and the UAS gets lost, the Link Loss
Procedure is activated. The following three Link Loss Procedures are available:
ComeHome Straight: The system will stop at its current
position, fly back to the home position at its current height
if it is higher than 65 ft. (20 meters) above the take-off
height; if it is lower than 65 ft. (20 m), it will ascend to
approx. 65 ft. (20 m) above the take-off height and then fly
back to the home position. When the UAS reaches the spot
above the home position, it will descend at 3 mph (1.5 m/s)
until it lands.
ComeHome High: The system will stop at its current
position and ascend, after reaching the highest point
during the current flight, it will fly back to the home
position and descend at 295 fpm (1.5 m/s) until it lands.
Direct Landing: The system will stop and start a controlled
descends at 3 mph (1.5 m/s) at its current position until it
lands. If no GPS is available, the system will always use Direct
Landing.
CAUTION: IF THE INTEL® POWERPACK™ BATTERIES ARE LOW AT THE END OF A FLIGHT, THE
EXTRA POWER NEEDED TO ASCEND COULD DEPLETE THE INTEL® POWERPACK™
BATTERY AND LEAD TO A CRITICAL SITUATION.
