SECTION 5 PERFORMANCE PLANNING
INTRODUCTION
This Section of the Aircraft Flight Manual describes all performance information required by the
Federal Aviation Regulations (or other applicable regulations). Additional performance and
related information may be included to enhance the Pilot's operation of the aircraft.
FLIGHT PLANNING
NOTAMS Review
Review all NOTAMs for the area of intended operations to ensure none impact the planned
operation.
Maintenance Logbook Review
Review logbook entries and ensure no open items exist that may affect the planned
operation.
Meteorological Conditions Check & Record
Obtain latest current and forecast weather as applicable for the flight from an FAA approved
weather source.
Ensure weather is VMC. Look for any forecast deterioration of weather conditions.
Wind Direction Determine
Wind Speed 26 mph (12 m/s) GPS Mode
35 mph (16 m/s) Other
Modes
Determine wind direction and speed for estimated time of launch
Visibility 3 SM or Better
