Communications Establish
Ensure appropriate communications equipment is available when the Pilot and Visual
Observer are positioned beyond vocal range. If operating in an area where other operators,
aircraft, or emergency personnel are present, ensure proper notification has been made of
intended flight area and duration of operation.
ASSEMBLING THE UAS
4.3.1 Installing the Camera Mount
1. Feed the Camera Mount’s carbon rod, without thumbscrew, into the hole on the front
side of the Central Unit.
2. Adjust the Payload Adapter into place.
Note: During the assessment of field conditions if a determination is made that hazards
are present, perform a risk assessment and implement mitigating procedures.
Note: Make sure the Camera Mount comes out straight and not at an angle.
