SECTION 4 NORMAL PROCEDURES
INTRODUCTION
This Section of the Aircraft Flight Manual provides a list of the normal operations. Each
Subsection provides an expanded checklist outlining the steps for each procedure as well as
explanations regarding the steps.
SITE SETUP PROCEDURE
Licenses, Documentation, Medical, Site Permission Present
All crewmembers are responsible for ensuring they have required licenses and medical
certificates readily accessible at all times during sUAS operations. If operating in an area of
restricted access or over privately owned land, obtain written permission and contact
information and keep that permission available during operation.
Airspace Category Determine
Determine operations are within an authorized area. Confirm no restrictions exist for
planned operation.
Operations Area Inspect / Assess
Verify adequate area for planned operation.
Consider the following items when planning a flight:
Meteorological Conditions
o Wind direction, speed, currents
o Atmospheric stability, pressure, and temperature
o Air masses and fronts
o Ceiling and visibility.
o Precipitation forecast
Flight Missions should be canceled/rescheduled if meteorological conditions
include or forecast the following:
Thunderstorms and microbursts
Tornadoes
Icing
Hail
Fog
Lightning
