GPS-Mode
When there is no input from the Remote Pilot, the system will:
Keep its orientation in the air;
Maintain its position within the limits of the GPS accuracy (approx. 2-5 m);
Keep its height within the limits of the height controller (approx. 1-3m);
Compensate for wind speed up to 27 mph (12 m/s).
The inputs via the Intel
®
Cockpit GCS control the speed of the Intel
®
Falcon™ 8+ UAS directly.
Roll and pitch angles are limited to 45°.
Speed in horizontal plane is limited to 10 mph (4.5 m/s).
Ascend rate is limited to 7 mph (3 m/s).
Descend rate is limited to 7 mph (3 m/s).
Height-Mode
When there is no input from the remote Pilot, the system will only:
Keep its orientation in the air;
Keep its height within the limits of the height controller (approx. 1-3m).
The system will neither keep its position nor compensate for wind.
The position must be held manually by the Remote Pilot.
The inputs via the Intel
®
Cockpit GCS control the roll and pitch angles of the Intel
®
Falcon™ 8+
UAS.
Roll and pitch angles are limited to 50°.
The direction and the speed of the Intel
®
Falcon™ 8+ UAS are influenced by the wind
direction and speed.
Ascend rate is limited to 7 mph (3 m/s).
Descend rate is limited to 7 mph (3 m/s).
CAUTION: AVOID FULL THROTTLE INPUTS IN HEIGHT-MODE AS THE INTEL® FALCON™ 8+ UAS
CAN BE OVERSTRESSED IN CERTAIN SITUATIONS, E.G. FLYING ABRUPT MANEUVERS
WITH A LOW BATTERY.
CAUTION: WHEN THE GPS QUALITY IS INSUFFICIENT, HEIGHT-MODE WILL AUTOMATICALLY
BE ACTIVATED. AT THIS POINT, POSITIONAL ACCURACY MIGHT ALREADY BE TOO
LOW AND IT IS STRONGLY RECOMMENDED TO ACTIVELY SWITCH TO HEIGHT-MODE
IN SITUATIONS WITH INSUFFICIENT GPS QUALITY.
