removethe-48voltdcpowersupply,andmaketheconnectionstoanddisconnectionsfromthe-48voltdc
powersource.IBMservicetechniciansarenotcertifiedorauthorizedtoinstallorremovethe-48voltpower
cable.Thecustomerisresponsibleforensuringthatonlytrainedservicepersonnelinstallorremovethe
-48voltpowercable.
Step1.Readthesafetyinformationthatbeginson“Safety”onpagevand“Installationguidelines”on
page297
.
Step2.Touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthehot-swappowersupplytoanyunpainted
metalsurfaceontheserver;then,removethepowersupplyfromthepackageandplaceiton
astatic-protectivesurface.
Step3.Turnoffthecircuitbreakerforthedcpowersourcetowhichthenewpowersupplywillbe
connected.Disconnectthepowercordfromthedcpowersource.
Step4.Attachthedcpowercabletothenewpowersupply.
