consecutive errored STS-1 framing patterns) that
lasts for at least 3 milliseconds.
Likely causes: Failure of the OLIU circuit pack at
the near end, failure of the OLIU circuit pack at the
far end, or failure of the receive fiber.

or OC-1 line. The system responds by transmitting
DS1 or DS3 AIS toward the DSX and transmitting
STS-1 yellow toward the fiber from which the AIS is
being received.
Likely causes: Incomplete or incorrect
cross-connect provisioning in an end-to-end
network. Unprotected removal or failure of a DS3,
MXRVO,orOLIU circuit pack at the far end, or
unprotected optical line failure.
