NOTE:
When the second 24G-U/24H-U or 29G-U/29H-U OLIU is seated in the
MAIN 2(P) slot, an OC12 connector failed alarm will occur.
Normally, the alarm occurs because the OC-12 connector (ribbon cable)
is not yet installed. To clear the alarm, install the OC-12 connector on the
24G-U/24H-U or 29G-U/29H-U OLIUs seated in the MAIN 1 and MAIN
2(P) slots.
Install second OLIU (if required) into MAIN 2(P) or FUNCTION UNITS-( )-2(P)
slot.
Response: FAULT LED and ACTIVE LED lights. FAULT LED begins
to flash after about 10 seconds. (The FAULT LED may go
off for a few seconds before starting to flash.)
3. Are 24G-U/24H-U or 29G-U/29H-U OLIUs being installed?
If YES, then continue with Step 4.
If NO, then proceed to Step 7.
4. Connect OC-12 connector (ribbon cable) between 24G-U/24H-U or
29G-U/29H-U OLIUsintheMAIN 1 and MAIN 2(P) slots.
5. Verify that the connectors on the OC-12 connector cable are properly seated
and latched.
6. Verify that the OC12 connector failed alarm has cleared.
7. Have all required OLIUs been installed?
If YES, then STOP. YOU HAVE COMPLETED THIS PROCEDURE.
If NO, then repeat this procedure for all OLIUs being installed.
